Ode to the beautiful island of Kauai, these two pieces were made from driftwood and coconuts. Still soaked in the fluid waters from their journey, the materials are placed together on the same beach, unifying the connection between land and sea. The three points of the triangle representing the elements of land, sea and life. The coil and outstretched arm of the larger piece represents the inner world, coiling inside and extending a part of oneself to connect with the collective consciousness.
The wood and coconuts spent many months drifting in the salty sea, gathering energy and myth. A coconut can survive more than a year drifting in the sea before the seed is no longer viable. By placing them firmly on the sand, these gravitational shapes can work to unify and purify the beaches of Kauai, potentially sprouting new life.
