This piece was created to introduce a feminine tone onto the property of the Stonehouse on Salt Spring Island, British Columbia. The sculpture represents a harmonic union between the masculine and the feminine, drawing in the more feminine aspect of vibration and sound.
It was named "Thirteen's Companion" in respect to the 13 pillar stone circular sculpture on the property. There are 123 stones weaving throughout the piece, intertwined with moss, black maple leaves and a found Madrone tree (Arbutus).
Each color represents a different Chakra and feminine energy; the green moss vibrating at the heart chakra; the black maple, representing the dark violet of the crown chakra and the deep red Madrone rooting the piece through the base chakra. Yellow dandelions fill the small outer circle, reminding us that the solar plexis (intuition) always plays a hand in creation and imagination.
